Amity Church of Christ (ACC) has a great heritage. The original founders began meeting in 1846. ACC is the first Christian Church founded west of the Rockies. The church’s roots go back to the Stone-Campbell Movement of the early 1800s, sometimes known as the American Restoration Movement. Three branches of this movement continue to this day, including the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Noninstrumental Churches of Christ, and the Independent Christian Churches. ACC voluntarily affiliates with the Independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ.
